What Availa sees, keeps and sends
Availa is a helper that sits on the side of your screen. Here is exactly what it does with your information, in plain words.
What it sees
It looks at the app you are using, the same way a person sitting next to you would. Every 20 seconds it reads the words on that screen. It does not look at password apps, private browser windows, or any app you tell it to skip. When you step away from the computer, it stops looking.
What it keeps
It writes the words it saw in a notebook that lives only on your computer. Think of it like a diary of what you worked on. It does not keep pictures of your screen unless you turn that on in Settings. You can open the notebook any time (the clock icon in the sidebar), read every page, search it, and delete any page or the whole thing.
What it sends, and when
Only when you ask it something. Then it sends three things to the AI that writes the answer: your question, what is on your screen right then, and the few notebook pages that fit the question. That is it. When you are not asking, nothing is sent. The AI does not keep what it is sent to train on.
Privacy mode, in Settings, goes one step further: before anything is sent, names, email addresses, phone numbers and ID numbers are swapped for placeholders like "Person 1". The answer comes back with the real names put back in. The AI never sees who it was about.
What it learns about you
Two things. How you write, from emails you sent, so your replies sound like you. And facts you tell it or that come up in your questions, like "I am a senior at BC". Both live on your computer. You can read and delete them under Memory, in About you.
How to stop it or clear it
Pause: the pause button at the top of the sidebar. It stops looking until you press it again.
Skip an app: Settings, "Never watch these apps". Add the app's name.
Forget one thing: Memory, the trash icon next to it.
Forget everything: Settings, "Clear everything". On the website, "Delete all memory" or "Delete account".
